Seaside Inn featured in PEOPLE’s America at 250
We are deeply honored and proud to share that the Seaside Inn has been included in PEOPLE Magazine’s special edition, America at 250: A Celebration of American Treasures. Found on page 57, the feature includes two photos of the Seaside Inn and recognizes the remarkable history of our family-run inn, which sits directly overlooking Gooch’s Beach in Kennebunk, Maine.
For our family, this recognition is especially meaningful. The Seaside Inn has been welcoming guests by the sea for generations, with roots on this special stretch of coastline dating back centuries. Today, owners Trish and Ken Mason continue a family tradition that began in 1756, making Trish and Ken America’s only ninth-generation innkeepers. The inn’s history traces back through the Gooch family, whose story is woven into the history of Kennebunk Beach itself.
To be included among America’s treasured places as the nation celebrates its 250th birthday is a true honor. We are proud not only of the history behind the Seaside Inn, but also of the generations of family members, staff and loyal guests who have helped keep its spirit alive. For us, the Seaside Inn has always been more than a place to stay — it is a family legacy, a gathering place and a beloved piece of Maine’s coastal history.

We are grateful to PEOPLE Magazine for shining a light on this story, and even more grateful to all who continue to be part of it.
