We traditionally honor both our local and national veterans every Memorial Day with three regular parades, this year on Monday, May 27. Stay with us and stick around for the observations. They typically step off at these times:
KENNEBUNKPORT: 9:30 a.m., starting on Temple Street to Spring Street and through Dock Square, over the bridge to Kennebunk and Cooper’s Corner — and back again. A 21-gun salute is held on the Mathew Lanigan Bridge.
CAPE PORPOISE: Half an hour after the ceremony in Dock Square, about 11:30 a.m., a smaller version of the Dock Square parade will move to Cape Porpoise village by Atlantic Hall.
KENNEBUNK: 2 p.m., in downtown Kennebunk from Town Hall, down Main Street, over the bridge and back again. A 21-gun salute is held on the bridge on Route 1 over the Mousam River.
